Obama and Friends Cary, North Carolina

Obama Mamas and Friends. The Cary News has run a great article about our little get-togethers and action. Check it out here.

And just for those who are getting on board now, here's the picture of our first meetup in April. Let us know if you'd like to join our next MeetUp May 6th, or whenever Michelle Obama RSVPs that she is available. ;) Until then, get your Obama Mama Tee Shirts here and wear them proud. I think Barack made a bold move today. Go here and listen to this.

"Obama Works" Cary Event

We Obama Mamas (of the Triangle NC) will be holding an
"Obama Works" community service project on Saturday, April 19 from 2:00 to 4:00 in
the parking lot of Panera Bread at 1065 Darrington Drive in Cary. This is
a simple project with great benefit and anyone and everyone is welcome to
participate. The Obama Mamas are a diverse group of local mamas
of various political backgrounds (Republican, Democrat, Unaffiliated, and
None!). We are collecting cleaning products for The Carying Place - a
well-established organization in Cary that helps homeless families get on their
feet. They are always in need of supplies for their families, but the need
is especially great as more families face homelessness and budget cuts due to
current economic conditions.

Please drop off any of the
following items to us. They will become part of the move-in kit given to
each family when they are placed in transitional housing.

Items needed:
large bucket, dish cloths and
towels, dishwashing liquid, pot-scrubber pads, laundry detergent, fabric
softener, mop, broom, dustpan, rubber gloves, floor cleaner such as Murphy's Oil
Soap, bathroom cleaner such as Comet, kitchen sanitizing spray, kitchen
degreasing cleaner, window cleaner, package of toilet paper, package of paper
towels, box of small garbage can liners, box of large garbage can liners, toilet
bowl brush, box of tissues.

No act of kindness is too
small. Your contribution will greatly benefit a family in our
community. Together we can make a difference in people's everyday lives -
YES WE CAN!

To find out more about The Carying Place, please see their website at www.thecaryingplace.org If you want to donate items on their Wish List other than cleaning supplies, please contact them directly.

Thank you for your
generosity.

Boss on Obama Board

No surprise that The Boss, Bruce Springsteen on on Obama Board. Read his letter below: Nice! Go here too: http://www.brucespringsteen.net/news/index.html

Dear Friends and Fans:

LIke most of you, I've been following the campaign and I have now seen and heard enough to know where I stand. Senator Obama, in my view, is head and shoulders above the rest.

He has the depth, the reflectiveness, and the resilience to be our next President. He speaks to the America I've envisioned in my music for the past 35 years, a generous nation with a citizenry willing to tackle nuanced and complex problems, a country that's interested in its collective destiny and in the potential of its gathered spirit. A place where "...nobody crowds you, and nobody goes it alone."

At the moment, critics have tried to diminish Senator Obama through the exaggeration of certain of his comments and relationships. While these matters are worthy of some discussion, they have been ripped out of the context and fabric of the man's life and vision, so well described in his excellent book, Dreams of My Father, often in order to distract us from discussing the real issues: war and peace, the fight for economic and racial justice, reaffirming our Constitution, and the protection and enhancement of our environment.

After the terrible damage done over the past eight years, a great American reclamation project needs to be undertaken. I believe that Senator Obama is the best candidate to lead that project and to lead us into the 21st Century with a renewed sense of moral purpose and of ourselves as Americans.

Over here on E Street, we're proud to support Obama for President.
